Memorial Day Event Taking Place in Stewart County
DOVER, TENNESSEE – The Carl E. Wallace VFW Post 4730 is hosting a Memorial
Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. May 30, 2022, at the Fort Donelson National Cemetery located at
National Cemetery Drive in Dover.
Those participating in the Presentation of the Wreaths needto be at the cemetery by 10:30 a.m.
The ceremony is a collaborative effort of VFW Post 4730, American Legion Dover Post
72, DAV Chapter 104, National Parks Service, and the Stewart County Veterans Service Office.
The guest speaker will be Army veteran Michael Rapp and the ceremony will include:
Posting of the Colors by Boy Scout Troop 501,
National Anthem sung by military veteran Melvin Self
Honor Roll Call and Ringing of the Bell,
Presentation of Wreaths,
Fort Campbell Honor Guard Rifle Detail 3-Round Volley,
and the playing of Taps,
followed by a meal at the
Stewart County Visitors Center.
There will also be military displays at the Stewart County Visitors Center by Fort
Campbell and the Museum of Military Culture.
The Dover Chapter 72 Legion Riders will lead a 22-mile suicide awareness ride
following the meal. All events are free and open to the public.
